Innovative Trailer Design Industries (ITD) had its humble beginnings through the family-operated business, Peel Truck and Trailer Equipment Inc., which has been servicing the truck and trailer industry since 1971. ITD's trailer expansion system has been successfully patented in Canada and the United States.ITD has and always will be customer focused, building to suit customer-specific requirements. They became the manufacturing arm of Peel to produce larger volumes of expandable and other custom trailers that include mobile command centers, mobile medical laboratories, and temporary buildings. In 2006, after several more successful launches and seeing an increase in demand, Innovative Trailer Design Industries was formed. This began a whole new concept in mobile training facilities. In 2002, Peel designed and sold its first expandable mobile training lab in the province of Alberta, which was recognized by then-Premier Ralph Klein. The ITD difference is that no existing trailers are modified, all solutions are independently designed with the latest engineering software and built with state-of-the-art equipment from the wheels up in a modern 70,000-square-foot facility.
